Klearsides® are especially useful where involuntary movements or muscle spasms may cause injury; where entrapment would be a risk using traditional side rails; and / or  good vision into and out of the bed is required. We offer the original Klearside® bed, which has been popular for nearly 10 years.  In addition, Klearsides® can be added to most BaKare beds.

To reduce the risk of injuries to vulnerable users from collisions and entrapment where side rails are present, bumper covers are traditionally used; however this can make the user feel ‘boxed in’. The Klearside® adjustable bed uses high strength PVC transparent windows integrated into both sides of the bed. These are mounted on wooden support rails, which are themselves protected by foam padding.

The Klearside® is suited to individuals within their own home or a residential home and offers security to the user whilst offering easy access and easier visual supervision.

Conforms to EC directive for Medical devices 93/42/EEC, and is produced to EN 60601-2-52/2010, the standard that all manufacturers of adjustable beds must meet by April 2013. It is specifically designed to conform to standards that allow use within all types of care environments & meets requirements for insurance policies. It is also zero-rated for VAT meaning that it qualifies for VAT Exception if used by a disabled person or funded by charity.
