Split / assist side rails can mean the difference between needing assistance getting into or out of bed without help or requiring the help of a carer. Split / assist side rails make transferring from a wheelchair to the bed much easier. Being part of the bed and constructed from hardwood and metal, they are built to remain stable and offer a more rigid & secure feel than a typical bed leaver or bed rail which slides under the mattress. And when not in use, they can be folded away.

I have been using my Volker 3080 for about six years and I am so glad that I bought this bed. I am able to pull myself about using the split rail and I can get in and out off bed without assistance. I spend most of my time on the bed as it is so comfortable and so adjustable. I can do needlework use the computer etc. There is no comparison between my previous bed and the Volker 3080. Now my husband is wanting one too. He says the way it bends suits his back better than the bed he has now – Ms Miller 24/05/2011
