The BaKare Klearside

To reduce the risk of injuries to vulnerable users from collisions and entrapment where side rails are present, bumper covers are traditionally used; however this can make the user feel 'boxed in'. The Klearside® adjustable bed uses high strength PVC transparent windows integrated into both sides of the bed. These are mounted on wooden support rails, which are themselves protected by foam padding.

The Klearside® is suited to individuals within their own home or a residential home and offers security to the user whilst offering easy access and easier visual supervision.

The Klearside® is electrically operated via an electronic handset and profiles to a variety of positions. Full conformance to EU / UK legal & safety requirements (in particular, BS EN 1970 - Adjustable beds for disabled persons) not only means that the bed adheres to stringent standards; it also allows VAT exemption if the bed is used by a disabled person or funded by a charity.

Mattress Choice

BaKare recommend the Medi-Pro+ mattress range, which has been designed to provide a solution for both comfort and pressure relief on adjustable and static beds. Medi-Pro+ mattresses are stringently tested and fully meet fire regulations BS7177:1996 Medium Hazard, Source 5.
 

Safety and Standards

Mains power control circuit and low voltage operation for user safety. The following standards apply for the Klearside® nursing bed:

  • EN 60601-1
  • EN 60601-1-2
  • BS EN1970 (applicable parts only)

The Klearside® also complies with residential / nursing home insurance policies.
